What if I told you that your future is bright and will be filled with hope that will never fade away?
I hope you’d accept that promise.
Yet, when I honestly reflect back on my life, I can see many seasons where I rejected that promise for my own life. Oh, I could believe it for others. Sure. I knew that hope could be found in any situation and that none of us were too far gone. But my hope was faded, dead and had left the building. It’s amazing how we can accept and believe a reality for literally everyone but ourselves. That’s the power of guilt, shame and sin’s stronghold in our lives.
What a lonely place to live.
Thankfully, I’m not there today. I’ve learned that my seat at the table is secure, that my place in the room is held, and hope can not be taken away from me.
It’s incredibly easy to have hope for others, and we should have hope for everyone around us. But this week, what would it look like if you passionately pursued hope for you.
Be gentle in that journey. If it’s something you know you need to do and haven’t yet, you might be entering into some rough waters, but I can promise you, there’s calm on the other side.
