First of all, I’m so sorry that it has been a minute since I’ve posted a blog.
All I can say is that I’ve been going through some things. The transition from summer to fall has been a tougher one. I have two high schoolers who are starting to think about what they want to do for the rest of their lives. These are exciting but heavy conversations! As a parent, I can share that it is the hardest thing to see your teens try to make decisions for themselves. You hope that, in all of these years of raising them, they make good choices.
At the core of it all, it actually comes down to this: My prayer is that they each become a person that loves God and loves people. If you think about it, these things fit into any season of your life. In school–love God, love people. In work–love God, love people. In the grocery store–love God, love people. EVEN IN THE DMV–love God, love people.
I shared this with my kids. God’s going to guide them into different situations everyday. They can show and make a choice to do these things in each one. When I think about this, it eases my mind because really–no matter what or where they are in their lives–love God, love people.
