If you are an adult reading this. I am sure there are times where you forget what your limits are. As may already know, I coach youth soccer here in the Treasure Valley. I always like to play games with my players. I love seeing their faces light up with the have the opportunity to “take on the coach.” It’s been something that I am good at because it always elevates the level of play.
The thing I struggle with now is that there is a difference between your health and physical ability at 23 years old versus 43 years old. I am not as agile. I am not as fit. I get this reminder when I wake up sore and struggle to move around at work. Yes, you’re right. I keep forget that I am 43 years old.
I recently rolled my ankle trying to do some fancy footwork that I used to do all the time. However, forgetting to realize that I do not “get down” like I used to, I slipped and tripped over the ball. It was a good lesson, despite the embarrassment. I am getting old. I know this. I know God is remind me of where I am.
It’s okay to have those reminders that I cannot move like I used to. However, it was still fun. Be please be safe and know it’s okay if you cannot do what you used to do.
